CHAPTER 3
3.3 Ensure participation of team,
stakeholders and clients
Ensuring participation
Change can’t succeed without the meaningful involvement of many
people connected to the organization; team, stakeholders, friends,
family, suppliers and clients.
Participation can range from individually offering ideas, solutions, and
reactions to concepts, to taking part in team meetings to design and
build the new culture and organizational structure, to helping promote the
new culture within their circles.
Use a balanced approach, keeping in mind that input from a wide range
of people can generate excitement and motivation to change and that
cultural ideas and messages flow down—behaviors and actions flow up.
Ask yourself what you can do more of or less of to make the desired
culture real in day-to-day activities, act in consistency with your values
and model the desired culture.
